Charlotte County jail sells ad space for inmates

Facing budget cuts and less resources for the inmates, the Charlotte County jail in south Florida is selling advertising space on their jail visitation monitors. A jail spokesperson said that attorneys, councilors, and debt consolidators are amongst the first companies showing interest. Call it unethical, but the prison estimates that the program will raise $77,000 in the first year, funds that will be turned around for prison resources and prisoner rehabilitation.
